One status code. Four moves. No accounts, no credits.

HTTP 402 finally does what it was reserved for. Tollgate turns it into a challenge an agent can read, a payment a human can approve and a receipt anyone can check.

06Why it exists

Infrastructure, not a storefront.

x402 is an open standard, and agents need rails they can trust without trusting us. Tollgate is those rails, for anyone serving agents.

Payments, not promises
Each call is priced and settled per request, or once per paid session. No credits to top up, no invoices, no monthly minimums.
Model-proof vault
Secrets are sealed with AES-256-GCM and substituted at egress. The model only ever sees [REDACTED], and echoes are scrubbed on the way back.
Identity with receipts
Every agent gets a wallet, an API key and a reputation score built from settled payments, each one anchored to a transaction.
Open source, MIT
